When you're being hunted, who can you trust?

For the first time since she escaped from her school many months ago, Eve can sleep soundly. She's living in Califia, a haven for women, protected from the terrifying fate that awaits orphaned girls in The New America.

But her safety came at a price: She was forced to abandon Caleb, the boy she loves, wounded and alone at the city gates. When Eve gets word that Caleb is in trouble, she sets out into the wild again to rescue him, only to be captured and brought to the City of Sand, the capital of The New America.

Trapped inside the City walls, Eve uncovers a shocking secret about her past--and is forced to confront the harsh reality of her future. When she discovers Caleb is alive, Eve attempts to flee her prison so they can be together--but the consequences could be deadly. She must make a desperate choice to save the ones she loves . . . or risk losing Caleb forever.

My Review: This book starts off right where Eve left off. Eve is in Califia, a safe place for girls only. While there she is given shelter, food and is taught a few things. While there she is constantly thinking about Caleb and wonders if he is even alive.  One day Arden arrives at Califia, but she doesn't stay long and neither does Eve. They hear news about Caleb and they act on it. They escape one night heading to the shack where Caleb was said to be. If only they knew they were heading into a trap. Once they arrive at the run down building Eve walks in and hears a voice, as she goes to it she realizes, that it's not Caleb and goes to run off and warns Arden to do the same.  They don't run very far until they are captured by the soldiers. They take the girls to the city of sand. Arden is afraid of what will happen to her, while Eve worries about what the king has in store for her. Once inside the city of sand, Arden is strapped to a bed and taken away, while Eve is brought to the king. Now this is where everything changes for Eve. After meeting the king and being told she is his daughter and now the princess. Eve is trying to figure out what she should do next, and during her welcoming to the city,  Eve spots him. Eve is staring right at Caleb, which now gives her all new hope. I'll leave the rest of the book for you to read. For you won't want to miss an unforgettable ending.
